David Carden-Jones

DCJ HTPG mug shotRetired. Married to Carolyn. Son, Christopher, and grandson, Oliver, who are also members of the RB396 Supporters’ Club. My working background is in technical illustration, drafting and graphics. I am currently producing 1:72 scale models of RB396 for sale in the shop at Uckfield base and at events to raise funds. I also assist at events in the south of the country. David lives in Southampton, Hampshire.

In the 1950s I inherited a love of aviation from my father, Patrick, a pre-war PPL holder, racing driver, aeronautical engineer and flight engineer with the Air Transport Auxiliary during WW2. The launch of the Project & Supporters’ Club and unveiling of the Napier Sabre engine at Goodwood provided an opportunity to become involved with a unique, exciting and very challenging aircraft restoration. The experience has been both interesting and very rewarding. If you enjoy aeroplanes I thoroughly recommend joining this friendly and welcoming group.
