Charity song release celebrating Dave Hands

Many of our supporters will know that one of our Trustees, Dave Hands, sadly passed away at the end of 2023. Dave was passionate about the project and aviation in general, being a keen glider pilot.

We recently discovered that Murray Edmunds, an Oxfordshire musician and songwriter and a great friend of Dave, has penned a charity song in his honour. Released by Murray’s musical collaboration Kylolus, ‘The Beacon of Our Love (A Song for Dave)’ is a heartfelt track that expresses love, loss and hope. Speaking to the Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group, Murray said “I am very proud of this song and hope that we have created something beautiful that does justice to Dave’s memory.”

Produced and sung by Andrew James, with a guitar solo from Steve Skidmore, the song can be heard here and downloaded for £5. All profits will be split between Cancer Research UK and the Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group. Please have a listen and we hope you will want to buy it. We thank Murray for this beautiful song and for including us in the proceeds.
